Napa Living
Life here is amazing so far.
Our Napa home
We’re now four weeks into living in our new home, and it’s already exceeded our expectations. We had guests almost immediately (which meant a week of living in the van), so technically we’ve only been sleeping in the house for three weeks. Hosting early gave us a perfect excuse to dive into exploring the area, mostly on foot.
Within a mile of our home, we can find just about every type of food, beer, wine, baked good, and coffee we could ever want. The walk to Jacob and Kaitlin’s (and Rory’s) house is exactly a mile, making spontaneous “we’re just going to pop over” visits delightfully frequent.
Napa River from the 3rd St bridge
The Napa River sits between our homes, and we’re only a block from its west shore. The area is teeming with birdlife, and we’ve heard we might even spot sea lions and dolphins on occasion when they’re chasing salmon upriver.
Taking Rory on a walk
The best part of all has been the Rory time. We’re providing daycare three days a week and often see him on the in-between days as well. He’s so happy outdoors, and when the weather’s nice, we take him out in the stroller or backpack. Our new e-bikes have been getting a lot of use, and we’re excited to trailer him around once he’s a little older.
