Hieroglyphic Trail in Gold Canyon
Julie and got an early start and drove back into the neighborhood of Gold Canyon for the trailhead to the Hieroglyphic Trail. Parking lot was about half full when we arrived. It would be well past overflowing when we finished.
The trail was 1.5 miles out, returning along the same path which was a ridge leading to a slick rock canyon with ample water. Waterfalls and pools made the hike worthwhile even without the petroglyphs.
So many petroglyph panels! Lots of more recent graffiti too we expect. The trail is heavily used and the rock was very slick from repeated use in places.
